International Research Center in Critical Raw Materials for Advanced Industrial Technologies.
Santiago Cuesta is the Director of the International Research Center in Critical Raw Materials for Advanced Industrial Technologies and Director of the Advanced Materials, Nuclear technology and applied Nanotechnology Department of Universidad de Burgos.
He has participated in more than 30 projects at EU-wide (FP5/6/7), National level (MINECO/MICINN – Spain, ANR – France) or private industry in the fields of Materials Science, Nano/Biotechnology, Nuclear Technology, Engineering and Multidisciplinary Physics. He has authored more than 40 JCR publications and 60 technical communications to industry. S. Cuesta is deeply involved in the activities of the EU EIP Raw Materials. In particular, he is leader of the WP1 in the EIP-Raw Materials Action Group 1.7 RESET, and WP1 within the Action Group SUBST-EXTREME in the commitment 1.8. He is also responsible of the innovation actions into H2020 for both WGs.
In the last ten years Dr. S. Cuesta has been awarded with the National Prize of SNE for young researchers (2003), the postdoctoral prize “Marcel-Merieux/ENS-Lyon” region Rhône-Alpes in genomics (2006), and the prize for ICFRM extreme Materials (2009).
