Spain Travel Health

To protect your health, the Government of Spain has implemented a series of measures to protect the general public’s health, including health control of passengers upon arrival in Spain. From this website you can fill out the health control form and obtain your QR Code, to show it at the control points upon arrival in Spain.

Entry and Residence Permits

Students of a member state of the European Economic Area (EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland need only a valid identification card or passport to enter Spain.

Nationals of any other country have to apply for a visa at the Spanish embassy or consulate before leaving their home country. Details of the procedure and lists of the Spanish consular offices can be found at Information for foreigners

Health Insurance

Students from the EU need thir European Health Insurance Card. Your university international office will inform you how and where to get it.

Students from a country that has a national insurance agreementwith Spain have to ask for appropiate documents at their national insurance office. If health insurance care is not included in the agreement, students should take out a private insurance policy.

Those students whose countr does not have an insurance agreement with Spain should also purchase a private insurance.

If you have the European Card and need health assistance, you should contact your nearest "Centro de Salud". Each district in the city has at least one of theses centers.
