Seminario INMA Impulso: "Flexible and printable devices for nano-net energy systems” .- Lunes 8 de mayo

Due to innovative consumption of energy, the nano-net power ecosystem is an emerging market. Particularly for the purpose of the internet of things which are altering the way that monitoring and data analysis are done. This demand for the creation of new, integrated, lightweight, adaptable, and efficient energy systems is now a goal. As a result, the physical principles underlying various forms of energy harvesting, energy storage, and wireless energy distribution will be described and explained in this session. We'll go over the manufacturing process for these systems and their technological uses, which range from bioapplications to gas monitoring systems to even space-based energy distribution systems.

André Pereira (AMP) is a member of LaPMET/IFIMUP, coordinator of the Laboratory of Flexible Electronics@LaPMET, and Auxiliar Professor at the Physics and Astronomy Dept., FCUP (DFA-FCUP). He has a large research background in Material Physics, Nanotechnology and Advanced Characterization, namely in the areas of spintronic, energy harvesting, energy storage and magnetic refrigeration. He is an expert on the development of novel micro/nanodevices, screen-printing and micro/nanofabrication. AMP published over 140 papers in international review (h-index=31), 1 academic book, 4 book chapters, 3 review articles and >500 int./nat. communications. APM is PI or local coordinator of several national and international projects, such as Pathfinder from Horizon Europe, MCSA H2020, and 3 FCT projects, and member of 35 projects.

He has also an entrepreneurial streak in his research field. Founder of inanoEnergy, a port university spinoff company that creates self-powered equipment with the capacity to undertake parameter monitoring in remote regions. Founder of the startup WESTOREONTEX, which promotes energy storage technologies in textiles for use in wearable electronics.
