Seminario de Álgebra: “Σ-invariants of coherent groups”.- Miércoles 13 de mayo
El miércoles 13 de mayo de 2026 tendrá lugar un nuevo Seminario de Álgebra, organizado por el IUMA y el Departamento de Matemáticas, con la conferencia de título “Σ-invariants of coherent groups” impartida por Sam Fisher (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid). Se celebrará a las 12:00 h en el Seminario de Álgebra, situado en el Edificio B (Matemáticas).
Resumen (en inglés):
The Σ-invariants of a group G are a sequence of sunsets of the first real cohomology of G, which control the finiteness properties of co-Abelian subgroups. In this talk, we will discuss the structure of the Σ-invariants of a coherent group, and draw a relationship between them and the L²-invariants in the case G is virtually special (in the sense of Wise). This is based on joint work with Pablo Sánchez Peralta.
